Would you be kind enough to fill me in on some basic history of the old motel sitting on Rt 104 and Fancher Rd. I photographed it last month roadside. As much as I would have liked to get up closer I didn’t want to without permission. Thank you! Jim Dusen
My apologies for the delay. To answer your question, Fair Haven Inn Lodging sets alongside Tillman’s Inn at the center of the village of Childs NY. The Fair Haven Inn serves overnight and long term guests in historic Childs, a 19th century village, the site of the National Landmark Cobblestone District, and a unique bit of Americana. It is adjacent to Tillmans Inn – home of fine dining to this day along with a grocery store, museum and gift shop. Its central location places it within five miles of trophy fishing and historic sights of the area as well as 45 minutes from the major metropolitan areas of Rochester, Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Its beautifully appointed rooms are unique, furnished with antiques and contain all modern amenities including private baths. Each room possesses its own character in both decoration and design. Come see and feel how history can be both convenient and comfortable in a relaxed country setting.

I have the old Regulator clock that hung in the old railroad station. Just wondering if you might be interested in it?

The museum would love to have it!
While cruising on the Erie Canal we waited for the depot museum to open. Raymond came through for us even though it was his birthday he was there, late but opened. What a nice collection of Holley history in the restored train depot. Well worth the stop especially if Raymond is there. He grew up in Holley and returned after retiring. He had great stories about the town. Thanks Raymond!
I’m thrilled you had a chance to visit our Train Depot Museum. Thank you for sharing your experience.
My Uncle George Wolcott owned several dairy stores in Orleans County. Do you have any photographs of any of the properties and/or delivery trucks or personnel?
How interesting! As for photos, I’m sorry to say that I don’t. You may wish to follow up with the Holley-Murray Historical Society.
He had the BEST ice cream!
